This is a website dedicated to showcasing and reviewing new adult fiction.

The motive behind starting this blog comes from a belief that new adult fiction has a legitimate and important place in the market and in our culture. It’s the type of fiction I love to read, the type I love to write, and the type I love to pull apart and discuss. It’s a genre “underpinned by purpose” to construct and reflect the lives of emerging adults and it’s mostly written by new adults for new adults, which I think lends itself to greater authenticity and genuine emotional weight during the narratives’ journeys.

I am passionate about literature in general (YA, NA, adult, genre and literary) and am a voracious reader. I love fresh and experimental ways to tell stories, and discussing craft and narrative with anyone and everyone. I also love young adult and new adult fiction in just about every genre, though I particularly enjoy fantasy, paranormal, and science-fiction.

I hope to connect to other like-minded folk passionate about their books and share thoughts and feelings about the media we consume.

Welcome!

What Will You Find on This Blog?

On this blog, I am going to review and rate fiction, both books and other media, that I will argue are “new adult” fiction. I want to show that new adult fiction is already all around us present, desired, but sometimes hard to categorize.

While I will probably venture out into reviewing and rating other books and media, as I am an avid reader and watcher of many things, my focus first will be on all things new adult.

Who Am I?

I am an aspiring writer and a teacher. I earned my BA in Creative Writing from Arizona State University and my MFA in Fiction from the University of South Carolina.

When I’m not writing (or grading papers), I’m snuggling with my dogs or eating tremendous amounts of sushi with my sidekick, Sav. I’m a fan of both Marvel and DC (tv/movie and comic book iterations), of all superhero content in general, Doctor Who, Farscape, BtVS, Roswell, NM, all the Stargates and Star Treks and Star Wars’, anime/manga, cooking/baking, The Great British Bake-Off, scores and soundtracks, and astronomy.
